Artmongers has established a yearly collaboration with Laban choreography M.A. students. The event happens in front of our Deptford Marbles mural which looks very much like a set design. In 2009, we sat the audience and fed them tea and cakes while they enjoyed the experimental dance pieces created specifically for the event.

When we finished the mural in 2008, we hosted our first performance event. We felt that affecting the infrastructure of the square wasn't enough to transform it into a happening place. We became interested in the warming affect of an ephemeral event, which would change people's perceptions and stays only in their memories.
Artmongers opened their new mural with a celebratory picnic and speeches, from the mayor of Lewisham, Julia King from the Orange Cafe and Artmongers. It was held on Saturday 8th September 2007. The digital mural was made with people's favourite fabrics and captions which described the reason of the attachment. It is about how all humans have a strong attachment to fabric, regardless of the cultural background, perhaps allowing us to stay calm beyond the mother's presence. The artwork is below Cafe Orange on Kitto Rd -at the top of Telegraph Hill. The cafe is open between 11am and 2pm, Monday to Friday.
We received funding from Awards for All , Lewisham Council and the Orange Cafe as well as some private donations.
Artmongers have set up as a company in Argentina with business partners,
Demian Martinez and Georgetta Capaccio to jointly develop our projects in
Buenos Aires. Artmongers Argentina will produce large scale murals across
Buenos Aires. The idea is to create new landmarks that people can gossip
about. With the help of private companies that currently sponsor the maintenance
of parks, we propose to improve the urban environment through art. We are
also planning to produce our 'cowbins' (vacatachos) in Argentina.
Deptford Racing was a protest done by artists against more betting shops on Deptford High Street and organised by us. It mainly involved loads of performing artists from the London Bienale. We ran through the Saturday market in slow motion demanding more space for art. It was part of Made in Deptford event 2006.
